Sometimes I post something on my website to simply find it easily on Google at a later date. Such is
the case with this article. I want to be able to search for "Lannigan's Cooking Temperatures" on Google and find this document.
I love my electronic meat thermometer. It removes all guesswork. And it's quick. I used to have to
cut into a chicken breast or burger to determine if it was done. Not anymore. The electronic meat thermometer makes it
a breeze.
Suggested Internal Temperature of Cooked Chicken or Turkey
- Ground chicken, turkey: 165° F
- Whole chicken, turkey: 180° F
- Breasts, roasts: 170° F
- Stuffing, alone or in bird: 165° F
Ground Meat
- Fresh ground beef, veal, lamb and pork: 160° F
Suggested Internal Temperature of Beef, veal, lamb (roasts, steaks, chops)
- Medium rare: 145° F
- Medium: 160° F
- Well done: 170° F
Suggested Internal Temperature of Fresh Pork (roasts, steaks, chops)
- Medium 160° F
- Well done 170° F
- Ham, cook before eating: 160° F
- Ham, reheat fully cooked: 140° F
